Accessibility Statement

Last updated on

AccessKit is built to help developers make the web more accessible — so it matters to us that our own website leads by example.

Our commitment

We are committed to ensuring that xskit.dev is accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at the AA level.

What we've done

  • Semantic HTML — We use proper landmarks, headings, lists, and ARIA attributes throughout the site so assistive technologies can navigate it effectively.
  • Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard. Focus indicators are visible across the site.
  • Color and contrast — Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios. We do not rely on color alone to convey information.
  • Responsive design — The site adapts to different screen sizes, zoom levels, and text spacing preferences.
  • Reduced motion — Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query. Users can also enable reduced motion through our AccessibilityWidget.
  • Alt text — Images include descriptive alternative text where appropriate.
  • Self-testing — We use our own AccessKit DevTools to audit pages and address findings before publishing.

Known limitations

While we strive for full compliance, there may be areas where we fall short:

  • Some third-party embedded content (such as the Stripe checkout form and Sanity Studio) is outside our direct control and may have its own accessibility limitations.
  • Our blog content is authored in a CMS; individual posts may occasionally have formatting that doesn't fully meet AA standards. We review and correct these as we find them.

Feedback

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on xskit.dev, we want to hear about it. Please reach out on our Discord at https://discord.gg/qb6mEN2D76 and include:

  • The page URL where you encountered the issue
  • A description of what happened
  • The assistive technology or browser you were using (if relevant)

We take every report seriously and will do our best to address issues promptly.
